K5BWD spent the weekend out at Early Town Center Park for the annual ARRL Field Day, turning the green space into a temporary emergency‑communications hub. Operators set up portable stations, raised antennas, and ran entirely on off‑grid power to practice real‑world readiness.
Visitors stopped by throughout the day to see radios in action, learn about amateur radio, and watch contacts roll in from across the country. Field Day is part operating event, part community outreach, and part preparedness drill — and Early Town Center Park proved to be the perfect backdrop for all three.
Thanks to everyone who came out, operated, logged, or just enjoyed the day. It was a great showing for the club and a solid reminder of why Field Day remains one of the most important traditions in amateur radio.
